Plain
Film Radiography
Today more than ever, we
are faced with the increasing demand of quality
control and trying to save time and precious money.
Radiology Consulting not only can help with interpretation
of radiographs, but also has the experience and
knowledge to trouble shoot any problems that may
come up with processor equipment, x-ray charts
and optimum positioning for optimum pictures.
Plain film radiographs are still an essential
first step in the overall care for the patient.
Very important information is received from radiographs
and they often help in the interpretation of MRI
and CT images. |
Special
Imaging
Magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) and computed tomography (CT) are especially
important in today's changing imaging demands.
CT is extremely sensitive to subtle fractures
and is excellent at cortical bone resolution.
CT also plays an important role in the evaluation
of the traumatized patient. Motor vehicle accidents
and several types of recreational accidents are
diagnosed with increased accuracy and definition,
which helps the radiologist and the treating physician
to better understand the injuries sustained by
the patient.
MRI allows the radiologist
a detailed evaluation of the soft tissues; muscles,
ligaments and the subcutaneous fat. Disc pathology
is best evaluated with MR imaging and this often
allows for a more definitive diagnosis. Recent
advancements in MR imaging have allowed radiologists
a unique perspective into the human body. As
a result, quicker diagnoses are established
and this in turn offers broader treatment options
for the patient.
